– Each creature knows that they must find their complement
Consciously or unconsciously, all creatures recognize the importance of the two principles. When a man thinks he has found his woman, he is ready to abandon everything to possess her because, without his knowing it, she has what he is lacking, she complements his nature. A king will abdicate his throne and abandon his subjects for a woman… how can she, irresistible as she may be, be more important to him than millions of subjects, a whole army, a royal treasury of fabulous jewels? Actually it is not the woman, it is the missing, complementary principle that is needed by commoner and king alike… more than anything else in the world.

For woman also the complementary principle is essential; she will go against her family, the world’s good opinion and all heaven and earth, to obtain the man she loves. How can this be wrong, since inscribed in the human heart by the Father and the divine Mother, nature, are the words, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.’ In his heart of hearts, each creature knows that he must find his complement, the part that completes him and makes him whole.

This is always what he is seeking, it is behind everything he does whether it be scientific, philosophical, artistic, religious… he is always seeking the complement of himself. Why does a man fall in love with one particular woman, generally to the exclusion of all other women? Because she reflects the other side of himself, the side he is missing.

Human beings are polarized, and this polarization incites them to seek the opposite pole in a man, a woman, even in God. For, regardless of how it may appear, they are always looking for the other part of themselves. Mystics claim they are seeking God, because God is what they are missing, the part they want to unite with and become one with in order to be a perfect, complete entity. Until then they suffer because they are disunited, mutilated. Consciously or unconsciously all beings seek one thing: their complementary principle, that which Initiatic Science calls the kindred soul, plenitude or fulfilment, peace, omniscience, omnipotence, God himself. All seek the same thing, the only difference being the form.
