– Links with Astrology
In Initiatic Science, water corresponds to the heart, to love, to the passive, feminine principle. Fire corresponds to the spirit, to wisdom, to the active, masculine principle. And in order to enter into the kingdom of God we must be born a second time, of these two principles, love and wisdom. These two principles, love and wisdom, give birth to truth.
Do you know someone who claims to possess the truth? Ask if they possess both love and wisdom. Ask them, ‘Is your heart big enough to embrace the whole world? No? Does your mind understand all the laws of nature? No? Then you do not possess truth.’ Truth is water and fire, love and wisdom, father and mother. And this is why men are, by nature, linked to wisdom and women to love.
When our intellect becomes like the sun and our heart like water gushing from a spring, we shall be born for the second time. Astrology casts a horoscope only for the moment of a child’s physical birth, of their first breath, but that is not enough. It is not possible to know someone’s character or destiny on the basis of the moment of physical birth alone; you must also take into account the moment of conception, as well as that of the second birth, which corresponds to the moment when consciousness becomes superconsciousness, to the moment when a person is illuminated and born anew in the other world.
The most favourable moment for birth on earth can be calculated from the movements of the stars in the heavens, but it is not necessary to know anything about astrology in order to be born anew. It is enough to be rich in virtue and to live according to the laws of love, wisdom and purity, in order to be born again, to enter into the new life. Yes, because this new life is not a question of theoretical knowledge, it is a state of consciousness, a totality of thoughts, feelings and acts, a life lived for the benefit of others as well as for one’s own benefit. On the other hand, of course, the esoteric sciences can be helpful if we study them in order to facilitate our evolution and arrive at a deeper understanding of the greatest mysteries.
